Heat therapy is the perfect way to ease tension in your muscles

Heat therapy is an effective remedy for muscle pain because it boosts circulation, which then allows nutrients and oxygen to travel to joints and muscles. This circulation helps repair damaged muscles and relieves inflammation, 

Heat therapy should not be used for acute injuries such as fractures or dislocations. It should never be applied to open wounds  and patients with circulatory problems  should not use heat pads .

Sufficient time is required for the warmth to penetrate deep into the muscles. . The exact duration for heat application depends on the type of the injury. 

Short durations, about 15 to 20 minutes, will  enough  for minor back tension, while longer durations for up to 30 minutes, may be recommended for chronic conditions or severe, excruciating pain. It is never recommended to sleep with a heating pad.
